Capping off a wonderful 15th year and the crystal anniversary of the Perth Fashion Festival, there was no better way to finish the week in style than with ELLERY.
Originally from Perth, designer Kym Ellery hosted the closing of PFF and launched her Resort ’14 collection, entitled ‘Vitreous’.
The night also unveiled the label’s much-anticipated bespoke jewellery, made entirely from fine Newmont gold.
The prestigious event was held in Perth’s stunning Linton and Kay Art Gallery, tying in perfectly with the show and the modern art aesthetic of the collection.
We saw classic ELLERY silhouettes re-emerge, with soft draping, elongated hemlines and sharp tailoring, reminiscent of Japanese designs.
This international influence also shone through in the rich textures and floral embellishments of the garments, and the colour palette, ranging from white, custard and rose to tan, chocolate and clay, proving neutrals are definitely the new black for Spring.
The ideal choice to end what has been a superb festival, ELLERY reminded everyone of the strength, talent and ingenuity of modern Australian designers.
